Helen is the Chairman and CEO of HB Nitkin, the firm she co-founded with her late husband, Bradley Nitkin in 1984. Together they established the direction of the firm and the investment strategy and values that prevails today. In 2009 after Bradley’s untimely death, Helen stepped into the role of Chairman to preserve Bradley’s legacy and reinforce their vision for growth. Helen is involved in all aspects of the business and has overseen and directed the acquisition, development, repositioning, and disposition of the firm’s diversified portfolio. As Chairman and CEO she has overseen the completion of The Front Street District, a 450,000 square foot mixed use public/private development in Hartford, CT and has diversified the portfolio to include medical properties, multifamily, and large scale development.

Helen holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from New York University. Helen worked in New York City real estate brokerage and development before establishing HB Nitkin and is past president of CREW, Commercial Women in Real Estate. Helen is chair of the real estate committee at Aperture Foundation, a member of the Yale School Dean’s Council, Women’s President Organization, and The Greenwich Women’s Round table. She is a founding member of Women’s Executive Action Loan Fund, an organization that provides business loans to women entrepreneurs.
